The UK government has filed a lawsuit against Google to prevent advertising dominance
The Justice Department of the United States federal government filed a case against the search engine giant Google. Lawsuits have been filed in the federal government as well as in the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Virginia.
The case was filed to prevent the company from dominating advertising on online platforms. This news was given by Qatar-based influential media Al Jazeera.
The case filed by the United States Federal Government's Department of Justice says that Google is illegally controlling the monopoly advertising market. Google has destroyed the balance of the competition between the technology companies. The case also states that, while controlling the digital advertising market, Google has chosen an illegal path, as well as reducing the price of advertisements to pressure any organization, boycotting some organizations.
Meanwhile, after suing Google in eight states, US Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco said in a statement that the control of this important advertising sector is now in Google's hands. The web sites that are running Google ads are getting less revenue from these ads.
On the other hand, those companies who are giving these advertisements have to pay more money. He commented that this situation has arisen because there is no competitor in the market.
Lisa Monaco said Google is making excessive profits. As a result, advertising agencies, advertisers and consumers in the United States are suffering. Google illegally controls what comes up when searching for something in the 'search engine'.
